The Job Role

Wesser Ltd offer the position of PROMOTIONAL FUNDRAISER.

The first thing you need to know is that you will not be employed by Wesser or by St-John Ambulance, this is a self-employed role, but that does not mean that you cannot earn well and that no support mechanism exists, infact it is the total opposite.

Our door-to-door fundraisers have a choice of working on their own from where they currently live, a choice that is very popular with sales and door-to-door professionals who understand the difficulties and challenges of the job role. For those who are completely new to this type of job role Wesser recommend you joining one of our live-in teams. The fundraising job role is not easy and is the main reason why Wesser provide live in accommodation, it fosters a strong team dynamic and you are always assured of great support 24/7!

This job role is mentally challenging, physically demanding and exceedingly gratifying. If choosing the live-in role you will be required to work in a team of 5-8 people in one of our many campaign locations across the UK making it a real home from home from unversity life and an excellent warm-up for your time abroad.

Working door-to-door in residential areas only, you will talk to members of the public about the work of our charity partner St-John Ambulance, asking the homeowner if they would like to give a regular donation to the charity.

All of our fundraisers wear clearly identifiable uniforms and carry identification badges as well as authorised materials that explain the work of the local St-John Ambulance. Although you will approach every house individually you are never more than a few streets away from the rest of your team and your team leader is always on hand to offer advice and support.

Personal Training… Well Taken Care Of

The majority of our training is delivered when you arrive at either the team house or on your first day of work. The level of training varies depending on the individual’s personal ability and speed of learning and after just two weeks in the job role you will receive a performance evaluation, a great opportunity for you to discuss your performance, training needs and personal development plan.

Fundraisers for St-John Ambulance need to be resilient and determined, but there are no set personality profiles that we look for; we do however like people who have something different about them and who most importantly have the likeability factor!
